"I could hold you in my arms/ I could hold on forever"

It is sheer joy to partake in the journey of a child;

Photobucket

to watch them change, adapt, grow, and become something that you could have never foreseen.

Photobucket

It is almost surreal knowing that this child was once part of your very flesh, and now they are becoming their own person.

I love watching Charlotte and her ever-changing abilities. She loves taking objects out and placing them back in containers. She has also begun the melodious "dadada-ing", which I am sure will soon morph into a heart warming "daddy."

Is it bad that I'm hoping she'll say mommy first? :)

As a stay-at-home mom, I cannot measure my days by time cards or paychecks, and I'd rather not measure my days by laundry folded or toilets cleaned. Instead, I'm trying to just enjoy the fleeting moments of watching and joining in as my daughter experiences the world.

Photobucket

She is such an observant thing, and it has made me once again remember the wonder of God's creation.

She also makes me laugh!

"He loves me, he loves me not"

Photobucket

I'm trying to savor every moment;

Photobucket

even the moments when I take the lens cap away.

This Monday, Charlotte will be nine months old.

Photobucket

She has now been out in the world as long as she was in my womb, and it amazes me to think that I love her more now than the day I met her.

Ahhhhh!!!!! She looks older!!!!!!!!!!! I know that's not what you wanted to hear... but she does!!!!! A few comments: Of course he loves her, but shes loves him not (yet)! :) The photo of her smirking is HILARIOUS! LOVE that she can put things back into a container! She'll be an excellent organizer! So smart already! I can't believe it's been 9 months since I received that text of her first picture at work. It's been so amazing to get to know her more and more with each visit & post. I can't wait to see what the future holds for these girls and their relationship with one another! I agree with the FB comment that you have described motherhood very well! Henry reminded me this week to take a break from housework and just play with her. Sometimes I feel like I am more utilitarian and he is the playmate... which he says is in my power to control. I think I agree. Thanks for the encouragement to enjoy the small moments!

Esther, Dada and I really enjoy your frequent posting of pics of "precious little Charlotte".
she gets even more beautiful with every update. It's the first thing I look for every morning, knowing full well you don't have
time for that. The two with Ben and Char are just too special.
Love you all, Mimi and Dada
