Anyway, I have a 2yr old and I feel the EXACT same way with whining! It drives me CRAZY! And yes, he will still do it, but what I try to do is get down on his level (literally/physically), and talk to him in a normal voice- and tell him to say it like me (repeating what he says)- or to at least say "please" in a normal voice. It has actually worked really well for me. Granted he will still start off whining from time to time, but I always just tell him to start over and say it in a "normal" voice- in which I show him, because they don't just know what "normal" means! Plus, my little guy has a limited vocabulary, so I think he's frustrated a lot of the time- so ANY word he can get out that's not whiny, I praise him for it! =) Hope that helps! Good luck! Oh, and LOTS of prayers for patience as I'm sure you know by now!!!!Jud and Mandyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07053213566085443368noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7326945904619534317.post-72192302347288417352011-09-18T12:28:57.805-05:002011-09-18T12:28:57.805-05:00Hi Esther! Sweet!

I know it's hard to put those sweet chipmunk cheeks down and go do "your thing" ...but you have to keep yourself strong before you can help others. Just my 2 cents, I'd let her cry it out and she'll eventully learn to entertain herself. She's very smart!

I went to church with an SB young adult. I imagine her parents gave her everything she every wanted to make up for her SB condition. ..Spoiled rotten! Her handicap wasn't her SB but her sense of entitlement.

Always in my prayers!

Susan BSusan B.https://www.blogger.com/profile/01777371105099105279noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7326945904619534317.post-6115377414595175772011-09-18T06:34:06.082-05:002011-09-18T06:34:06.082-05:00Esther dear, surely you're not talking about l...Esther dear, surely you're not talking about little
Charlotte, the one whose picture is posted on our frig with her tongue sticking out?
